ACT kuitu LC duplex -adapteri monimuoto OM5 laippa

The ACT Fiber optic LC duplex adapter multimode OM5 EA1019 is a single-pack LC/LC adapter designed for multimode OM5 fiber applications. Finished in a distinctive lime green color, the adapter provides a compact in-line connection between two LC-terminated multimode fiber cables. It supports multimode fiber mode structure and is intended for use in data centre, enterprise and campus networking where OM5 multimode links are deployed.

Advantages

This LC duplex adapter offers a standardized LC form factor for secure plug-and-play mating of LC multimode connectors, preserving optical alignment and minimizing insertion loss. Its OM5 compatibility ensures support for extended bandwidth multimode transmission, while the compact duplex design saves rack and panel space. The lime green color enables quick visual identification of OM5 multimode connections within mixed-fiber installations.

Suitable for

• Connecting LC-terminated multimode OM5 patch cords in patch panels and wall outlets
• Extending or repairing short multimode fiber links in data centre equipment
• Integration in fibre distribution panels and modular enclosures
• Laboratory and test-bench setups for multimode transmission evaluation

Key specifications

• Connector type: LC duplex (female to female)
• Fiber mode: Multimode OM5 compatibility
• Color: Lime green (OM5 identification)
• Construction: In-line adapter for panel or simple coupling use
• Number of pieces per pack: 1 adapter

How to use

Install the adapter by inserting the LC ferrule of an LC-terminated multimode OM5 patch cord into each side of the duplex adapter until the connector latches. Ensure connectors are clean and free of dust or debris before mating to maintain low insertion loss and return loss performance. The adapter can be mounted in compatible panel cutouts or used as a simple in-line coupler for short patching tasks. Avoid excessive bending or mechanical stress on connected cables.

Recommendations

For reliable optical performance, clean connector endfaces with an appropriate fiber cleaning tool before connection, and use OM5-rated patch cords for full multimode OM5 bandwidth. Inspect connections periodically and replace the adapter if physical damage or degraded optical characteristics are observed.
