Heijastin Godox RFT-1 Bowens-kiinnitys 5801

The Godox RFT-1 reflector with Bowens mount is a metal light-shaping accessory engineered to direct and concentrate light from compatible studio and on-camera strobes. Designed for use with lights featuring a Bowens-type fitting, this reflector modifies beam spread to deliver a tighter, more focused output suitable for portrait, product and general photographic lighting. Its construction improves light efficiency and helps control contrast and falloff when precise illumination is required.

Advantages

The RFT-1 provides a compact solution for narrowing beam angle and increasing on-axis intensity without altering color or adding diffusion. Its Bowens mount ensures broad compatibility with many studio fixtures and speedlights fitted with Bowens adapters. The reflector’s shape and finish produce a predictable light pattern useful for controlled highlights and enhanced subject separation.

Suitable for

• Portrait photography requiring focused catchlights and controlled contrast
• Product and still-life shoots where concentrated illumination is needed to highlight detail
• Studio setups aiming to shape light for rim, hair, or accent lighting
• Location work when a compact, easy-to-mount directional modifier is preferred

Key specifications

• Mount type: Bowens-compatible fitting for quick attachment to compatible heads
• Function: Reflects and concentrates strobe output to a narrower beam
• Material: Rigid metal construction to maintain reflector shape and beam consistency
• Finish: Interior reflective surface designed for controlled specular output
• Size and profile: Compact, conical reflector profile for focused light distribution

How to use

Attach the reflector to a strobe or studio light with a Bowens mount by aligning the fitting and twisting until it locks into place. Position the light and reflector at the desired angle and distance from the subject to control beam spread and intensity; moving the unit closer increases specular highlights and contrast, while moving it farther softens transitions. Combine the RFT-1 with grids, diffusers or gels where needed to further shape or color the light, and always ensure the fixture’s wattage and heat tolerances are compatible with metal modifiers.

Recommendations

For portrait work, start with the reflector slightly above eye level and angled downward to create natural catchlights and modeling. For product photography, use a more head-on position to emphasize surface details. When more precise control is required, pair the RFT-1 with a honeycomb grid to narrow the beam further and reduce spill.
