Henkilölaskurianturi Milesight VS133-P ToF PoE HTTP- ja MQTT-yhteydellä

The Milesight VS133-P ToF people counting sensor uses Time‑of‑Flight measurement to detect and count individuals accurately in real time. Designed for networked environments, the device supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) for simplified installation and offers HTTP and MQTT connectivity for integration with analytics platforms, building management systems and IoT solutions. Its compact housing and unobtrusive design make it suitable for ceiling or overhead mounting in retail stores, transport hubs and smart buildings where reliable occupancy and footfall data are required.

Advantages

The sensor delivers precise people counting using ToF technology which is less sensitive to lighting conditions and provides consistent results across different environments. PoE support reduces wiring complexity by combining data and power over a single Ethernet cable. Native HTTP and MQTT interfaces enable flexible integration with cloud services, local servers and third‑party analytics tools. The unit’s compact form factor and adjustable mounting options allow installation in various indoor locations without impacting interior aesthetics.

Suitable for

• Retail stores for footfall analysis and conversion rate measurement
• Public transportation hubs for passenger flow monitoring
• Commercial buildings for occupancy tracking and space utilization
• Shopping malls and exhibition centers for visitor analytics
• Smart building systems for HVAC and lighting automation based on occupancy

Key specifications

• Detection technology: Time‑of‑Flight (ToF)
• Connectivity: Ethernet with Power over Ethernet (PoE)
• Integration interfaces: HTTP API and MQTT client support
• Mounting: ceiling or overhead installation; compact enclosure for indoor use
• Output: real‑time people counts and basic metadata for analytics

How to use

Install the sensor on the ceiling or other overhead position to achieve an unobstructed top‑down view of the monitored area. Provide power and network connectivity via a PoE capable Ethernet switch or injector. Configure IP settings and integration endpoints through the device web interface or use the provided HTTP and MQTT endpoints to forward count data to your server or cloud platform. Calibrate the sensor coverage area and detection height according to the mounting height and the size of the monitored zone to ensure accurate counts.

Recommendations

Place the sensor to cover the full width of entry lanes or pathways for optimal counting accuracy. Avoid mounting near reflective surfaces or obstacles that could obstruct the line of sight. Regularly verify network connectivity and review count logs to ensure data integrity; use PoE with surge protection where network cabling is exposed to potential electrical disturbances.
