HPE 900 GB 2,5 tuuman SAS 10000 kierr./min sisäinen kiintolevy 785414-001

The Internal Hard Drive HPE 900 GB 2.5" SAS 10000 RPM (785414-001) is a 2.5-inch enterprise-class SAS hard disk drive with 900 GB capacity and a spindle speed of 10,000 RPM. Designed for use in rack and tower servers, storage arrays and high-performance computing systems, this drive delivers consistent sequential throughput and predictable latency for database, virtualization and mixed workload environments.

Advantages

This 2.5" SAS HDD combines a compact form factor with a high rotational speed to provide improved I/O performance compared with larger, slower drives. The 10,000 RPM spindle speed reduces access times and supports higher transactional workloads, while enterprise-grade construction ensures endurance and reliability under continuous operation. The SAS interface enables dual-port connectivity for redundancy and improved fault-tolerance in multi-path storage configurations.

Suitable for

• Server storage for database and transaction processing
• Virtualization hosts and hyper-converged infrastructure
• Enterprise storage arrays and tiered storage systems
• Backup targets and nearline high-performance storage

Key specifications

• Capacity: 900 GB usable raw storage
• Form factor: 2.5-inch drive suitable for dense server bays
• Interface: Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) for enterprise connectivity
• Rotational speed: 10,000 RPM for reduced seek latency
• Typical use: Designed for 24/7 data center operation and mixed workloads

How to use

Install the drive into a compatible 2.5" SAS bay or drive tray following the server or storage system manufacturer’s installation procedure. Ensure the host controller supports 10,000 RPM SAS drives and configure multipath or RAID as required by your environment. Initialize and format the drive in the operating system or storage management software before placing it into production. Monitor SMART attributes and drive health through the server management tools to maintain operational reliability.

Recommendations

Use this drive in environments where sustained random I/O and predictable latency are required. Pair with RAID controllers or multipath configurations for redundancy, and consider combining with higher-capacity or SSD tiers for optimal cost-performance in hybrid storage designs. Regular firmware updates and proactive monitoring are advised to ensure continued reliability.
