The ITEC USB-C to DisplayPort adapter i-tec USB-C Flat DP Adapter 4K/60 Hz is a compact converter that enables video output from a USB Type-C or Thunderbolt 3 port supporting DisplayPort Alt Mode to an external monitor, projector or TV with a DisplayPort input. The adapter supports 4K Ultra HD resolution up to 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz and carries stereo audio. It features an integrated 0.11 m cable, a durable rubberized housing in black and a lightweight design of approximately 16 g, making it suitable for mobile use and frequent transport.

Advantages

This adapter provides a simple plug-and-play connection without the need for additional drivers when the host system supports automatic installation. Its support for 4K/60 Hz ensures smooth high-resolution video for presentations, multimedia or extended desktops. The robust rubber material and small footprint offer improved durability and portability compared with larger adapters. The integrated short cable reduces strain on the host connector while keeping the setup tidy.

• Connecting a laptop, tablet or smartphone with USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 (DisplayPort Alt Mode) to a DisplayPort monitor
• Outputting 4K video to projectors and displays for presentations or video playback
• Expanding a desktop workspace by connecting a portable device to an external display
• Mobile professionals and field work where a compact, durable adapter is required

How to use

Connect the USB-C plug of the adapter to a USB Type-C or Thunderbolt 3 port on your computer that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode. Use a DisplayPort cable to connect the adapter’s DisplayPort end to the external monitor, projector or TV. Once connected, the host system typically recognizes the display automatically; if necessary, select the external display in the operating system display settings to configure resolution, orientation and multiple-display mode. No additional software is usually required when the host port supports Alt Mode and provides proper video output.

Recommendations

Before use, verify that your laptop, tablet or phone supports DisplayPort Alt Mode over its USB-C/Thunderbolt port. Use a high-quality DisplayPort cable rated for 4K/60 Hz to ensure stable video and audio transmission. Avoid excessive bending or pulling on the integrated cable and disconnect by pulling the connector body rather than the cable. If the display is not detected, check the device’s user manual or contact the device manufacturer to confirm USB-C video output capabilities.
