Kaapelitesteri QOLTEC 54279 — RJ45, RJ12, BNC-testilaite

The QOLTEC 54279 cable tester is a handheld tool designed to verify continuity and correct wiring of network and coaxial cables. It supports modular RJ45 and RJ12 connectors for Ethernet and telephone lines, as well as BNC connectors for coaxial cable tests. The tester provides a compact, battery-powered solution for on-site verification during installation, maintenance and troubleshooting, enabling technicians to quickly detect open circuits, short circuits and miswired pairs.

Advantages

This tester combines multi-connector support in a single handheld unit, making it convenient for mixed installations that include Ethernet, telephone and coaxial cabling. The design emphasizes portability and ease of use, with simple connection points for RJ45, RJ12 and BNC connectors and clear indication of continuity results. Battery operation removes the need for an external power source on site, and the rugged housing is suitable for regular field use by installers and service technicians.

Key specifications

How to use

Connect one end of the cable to the main unit and the other end to the remote or receiver as appropriate for the connector type (RJ45, RJ12 or BNC). Power the tester using the installed battery, then initiate the continuity or wiring test according to the unit's controls. Observe the indicator LEDs or display to determine if pairs are correctly wired, open, shorted or miswired. For coaxial cables, connect BNC connectors and run the continuity check to confirm signal path integrity. Always remove power and disconnect cables after testing.

Recommendations

Use the tester in dry conditions and avoid exposing the unit to heavy moisture or extreme temperatures. Replace batteries when indicators show low power to ensure reliable results. Before testing, visually inspect connectors and cable ends for damage and ensure secure terminations. For systematic troubleshooting, test from both ends of a cable run and compare results to isolate faults.
