Kierretapit ja -dieet FANAR 40cz HSS kierteityssarja M3–M20

Taps and Cuts FANAR 40cz HSS thread cutting set M3–M20 is a collection of high-speed steel (HSS) taps and related cutting tools designed to produce and repair internal metric threads from M3 to M20. The set is intended for workshop and maintenance use where durable HSS tooling and accurate thread geometry are required. It supports both manual and machine tapping operations and covers a broad range of common metric sizes for metalworking tasks.

Advantages

The HSS construction offers good hardness and heat resistance for repeated cutting operations in steel, cast iron and many non-ferrous alloys. The set includes a comprehensive range of metric taps that reduces the need to source individual sizes, improving efficiency in maintenance and repair work. Precision-ground flutes and consistent thread profiles help ensure reliable engagement and clear chip evacuation during tapping. Compatibility with both hand and machine tapping expands workshop flexibility.

Key specifications

How to use

Select the correct tap size for the desired thread and prepare the hole to the recommended drill diameter for that metric thread. Secure the workpiece and, if using a machine, align the tool perpendicular to the work surface. For manual tapping, use an appropriate tap wrench and apply consistent pressure while turning the tap forward three turns and backing off one turn to clear chips. Use cutting fluid suitable for the work material to reduce heat and improve chip evacuation. For machine tapping, follow the machine manufacturer’s speed and feed recommendations and ensure the spindle or tapping head provides correct feed for thread pitch.

Recommendations

Use appropriate cutting fluid for the work material, stop periodically to clear chips, and match drill size to thread pitch before tapping. Inspect taps for wear and replace damaged taps to avoid poor thread quality or tool breakage.
