Kuitu LC-LC duplex-liitin ACT Fiber optic OM5

The ACT Fiber optic LC-LC duplex adapter OM5 is a compact, single-unit coupling device designed for multimode OM5 fiber connections. It uses LC duplex interfaces in a distinctive green color to simplify identification of OM5 links. The adapter provides a precise ceramic alignment sleeve and low insertion loss suitable for short-range, high-bandwidth data transmission in local area networks and data center patching panels.

Advantages

The LC-LC duplex adapter offers reliable optical alignment and low back reflection through a ceramic ferrule sleeve, maintaining signal integrity across multimode OM5 fibers. Its color-coded green body allows quick visual identification of OM5 grade cabling during installation and maintenance. The compact LC form factor enables high port density in patch panels and enclosures while supporting standard multimode multimode transmission characteristics.

Suitable for

• OM5 multimode fiber patching in data centers and server rooms
• Local area network backbone and horizontal distribution
• Fiber optic patch panels and adapter plates
• Short-reach high-bandwidth applications using multimode fiber

Key specifications

• Connector type: LC duplex on both ends (adapter coupling)
• Fiber mode: Multimode OM5
• Body color: Green (OM5 identification)
• Ferrule alignment: Ceramic sleeve for precise mating
• Pack quantity: 1 unit per package
• Form factor: Compact LC footprint for high-density installations

How to use

Install the LC-LC duplex adapter into a compatible adapter panel or faceplate cutout designed for LC duplex couplers. Ensure both mating connectors are LC multimode plugs and align them carefully into the adapter until a secure mechanical connection is felt. Confirm proper seating of connectors and perform standard optical loss and continuity testing using an appropriate multimode light source and power meter or OTDR configured for OM5 fiber to verify acceptable insertion loss and return loss values.

Recommendations

Handle the adapter and connected fiber connectors with clean hands and use fiber cleaning tools to remove dust or debris before mating. Store unused adapters with dust caps to prevent contamination. Use this adapter in environments within standard indoor temperature ranges and avoid exposing it to mechanical stress or bending radii below the recommended limits for multimode fiber.
