Mikrofoni Rode XCM-50 Bundle — USB-liitettävyys, herttakuvio

The Rode XCM-50 Bundle is a USB microphone with a cardioid pickup pattern designed for direct connection to a computer. It is intended for capturing voice and instruments with focused on-axis sound while minimizing unwanted ambient noise. The microphone supports plug-and-play USB operation for streaming, podcasting, home studio recording and online meetings, and is supplied as a bundle with the basic accessories needed to start recording.

Advantages

The cardioid polar pattern reduces sensitivity to sounds arriving from the rear and sides, improving clarity for close-miked sources. USB connectivity simplifies setup by providing digital audio directly to a computer without needing an external audio interface. The bundle format includes practical accessories to speed up setup and ensure consistent positioning and mounting. The design is suitable for desktop use and typical home recording environments where compact, straightforward operation is required.

Suitable for

• Streaming and live broadcasting on platforms that accept USB microphones
• Podcasting and voice-over recording in home studios
• Remote meetings and online lessons where clear vocal pickup is important
• Recording acoustic instruments in close-miking situations

How to use

Connect the microphone to a computer using the USB cable and allow the operating system to recognise the device. Select the Rode XCM-50 as the input source in your recording or streaming software. Position the microphone with the capsule facing the sound source at a typical distance of 10–30 cm for voice to achieve a clear, natural capture. Use the cardioid pattern by placing the rear of the microphone away from unwanted noise sources such as computer fans or room reflections. Adjust input gain in software to avoid clipping while maintaining good signal level.

Recommendations

For optimal results, use a simple pop filter or windscreen when recording speech, and mount the microphone on a stable desktop stand or boom arm to reduce handling noise. Record in a quiet space or add basic acoustic treatment to reduce room reflections. Monitor levels with headphones during setup to ensure the recorded signal is balanced and free of distortion.
