Prosessori AMD EPYC 7302 3 GHz 16 ydintä 128 MB L3 kanta SP3

Processor AMD EPYC 7302 is a server CPU operating at 3.0 GHz base frequency with 16 cores and a large 128 MB L3 cache. Built on 7 nm process technology for energy-efficient performance, this Socket SP3 processor supports octa-channel DDR4 memory up to 3200 MHz and is designed for modern data-center workloads that require high core density, memory bandwidth, and platform I/O.

Advantages

The AMD EPYC 7302 delivers high parallel processing capability with 16 cores and SMT, a substantial 128 MB L3 cache to accelerate data-heavy tasks, and platform-level features inherited from the 2nd Gen EPYC family such as strong security primitives, PCIe 4.0 I/O capacity and efficient power-to-performance characteristics. Its 7 nm CPU cores provide improved instructions-per-cycle and energy efficiency compared with prior generations, enabling reliable performance for virtualized and containerized server environments.

Suitable for

• Virtualization and cloud services
• Database and in-memory analytics
• High-density server deployments and 1‑socket servers
• Software-defined infrastructure and container orchestration
• General-purpose enterprise server workloads

Key specifications

• Model: AMD EPYC 7302
• Base frequency: 3.0 GHz (boost up to 3.3 GHz)
• Cores / Threads: 16 cores (SMT threads not listed in source; typical EPYC supports 2x threads per core)
• Cache: 128 MB L3
• Process technology: 7 nm
• Socket: SP3
• Memory: Octa-channel DDR4 up to 3200 MHz
• PCIe: PCIe 4.0 support (platform feature of 2nd Gen EPYC family)

How to use

Install the AMD EPYC 7302 into a compatible Socket SP3 server motherboard following the board vendor’s installation instructions and thermal solution recommendations. Populate supported DDR4 memory modules in the recommended octa-channel configuration to achieve optimal memory bandwidth. Ensure the server BIOS/firmware is updated to a version that supports 2nd Generation EPYC processors, enable required virtualization or security features in firmware if needed, and configure the operating system and hypervisor for the intended workload.

Recommendations

For best results, use the EPYC 7302 in 1-socket designs where high core count and memory bandwidth reduce the need for a second CPU. Keep firmware and platform drivers up to date, populate all memory channels for maximum throughput, and consider PCIe 4.0-capable peripherals (NVMe, accelerators) to take advantage of the platform I/O. Use secure boot and encrypted virtualization features where data confidentiality is required.
