shiverpeaks BS78107-5 PS/2-kaapeli 5 m 6-napainen Mini-DIN harmaa

The shiverpeaks BS78107-5 PS/2 cable is a 5 metre connection cable with 6-pin Mini-DIN connectors on both ends, designed to link PS/2-compatible input devices to computers or other host systems. The cable provides a straightforward wired interface for keyboards, mice and other legacy peripherals that use the PS/2 connection standard. Its grey jacket offers neutral aesthetics suitable for office, studio or home environments.

Advantages

This PS/2 cable delivers a stable wired connection with a reliable 6-pin Mini-DIN termination at each end, minimising signal interruption for compatible devices. The 5 m length allows flexible placement of peripherals without the need for extensions. The cable’s construction supports consistent data transmission characteristic of PS/2 interfaces and its neutral colour integrates easily into varied setups.

Suitable for

• Connecting PS/2 keyboards to desktop computers or thin clients
• Linking PS/2 mice to systems with Mini-DIN ports
• Replacing or extending existing PS/2 cable connections in office and industrial environments
• Integration with legacy hardware that requires a 6-pin Mini-DIN cable

Key specifications

• Connector type: 6-pin Mini-DIN to 6-pin Mini-DIN
• Cable length: 5 metres
• Colour: grey
• Compatibility: PS/2-compatible input devices and host ports
• Form factor: round, flexible cable suitable for routing behind desks and equipment racks

How to use

To use the cable, align each 6-pin Mini-DIN connector with the corresponding PS/2 port on the device and host, ensuring correct orientation of the pins, then gently push until the connector seats. Confirm that both ends are fully inserted before powering or using connected devices. For disconnecting, pull by the connector housing rather than the cable to avoid strain. The cable can remain connected during normal operation but should be unplugged before relocating or servicing equipment.

Recommendations

Position the cable to avoid sharp bends and minimise contact with sources of electrical interference. For long-term installations, secure the cable with non-abrasive clips or ties and avoid excessive tension at connector ends to prolong service life.
