Pora Smart SDS‑MAX 40 mm betonille, malli 18-400320

Drill bit Smart SDS‑MAX 40 mm for concrete, model 18-400320 is a purpose‑built masonry drill intended for use with SDS‑MAX rotary hammers. With a 40 mm cutting diameter it provides a reliable option for medium‑to‑large boreholes in concrete, reinforced concrete and other common masonry materials. The SDS‑MAX shank ensures secure coupling and efficient transfer of hammering energy for drilling anchor holes, through‑fixings and service penetrations on construction and renovation sites.

Advantages

The drill bit combines an SDS‑MAX shank system with a robust carbide tip geometry to maintain drilling efficiency and edge life in demanding applications. Its 40 mm diameter balances material removal rate and accuracy for typical anchor and fixing tasks. The construction of the flute and body is intended to assist dust evacuation during drilling, reducing friction and heat build‑up while preserving cutting performance.

How to use

Secure the drill bit in the rotary hammer’s SDS‑MAX chuck according to the tool manufacturer’s instructions. Select the appropriate rotary hammer mode (rotary hammer/hammer drilling) and set a steady, moderate feed pressure — avoid excessive force that can cause bit wear or tool stall. Start drilling at low speed to establish the hole, then continue with full hammer action. Periodically withdraw the bit to clear dust and debris from the hole and flutes to maintain drilling efficiency and prevent overheating.

Recommendations

Use personal protective equipment including eye protection, hearing protection and dust mask when drilling. Match drill length and diameter to the required anchor or through‑fixing. For reinforced concrete, probe carefully to avoid rebar contact; if rebar is encountered, use appropriate rebar drilling methods or a different bit designed for cutting steel. Follow the rotary hammer and anchor manufacturer guidelines for recommended hole depth and cleaning before inserting anchors.
