The North Face Base Camp Matkalaukku S 50L - TNF Black/Smokey Brown

The Base Camp Duffel S is the smaller sibling of the legendary expedition hauler, built to the same bombproof standards but sized for shorter trips, gym sessions, or as a carry-on companion. Its 50-liter capacity swallows a surprising amount of gear while keeping a compact footprint, and the D-zip opening with weather-resistant flap shrugs off rain, dust, and rough handling. Unlike flimsy travel bags, this duffel uses a phthalate-free 1000D TPE laminate body and 840D ballistic nylon base, so it takes abrasion in stride. Four compression straps cinch down bulky loads, and the detachable alpine-cut shoulder straps let you carry it like a backpack when your hands are full. Whether you're heading to the crag, the airport, or the locker room, this bag is ready for decades of hard use.

In daily use

Pack the main compartment through the wide D-zip and use the internal mesh pocket to keep small essentials from disappearing. The end-cap zippered pocket is perfect for shoes, dirty laundry, or a quick-access layer. When the bag is overstuffed, the compression straps pull everything tight so it fits in overhead bins or car trunks. Carry it by the padded side handles for short moves, or clip on the shoulder straps for longer hauls—the alpine-cut design keeps the load stable on your back. The base material shrugs off wet ground, and the water-resistant ID window means you can spot your bag at baggage claim without opening it.
