Valurautainen paistinpannu ZWILLING Forge Iron paistinpannu 28 cm

The ZWILLING Forge Iron Frying Pan 28 cm is a cast iron skillet engineered for versatile stovetop cooking. Its 28 cm cooking surface and heavy-duty cast iron construction deliver reliable heat retention and even distribution for searing, browning and frying. The pan is pre-treated to support everyday use and is compatible with gas, electric and ceramic hobs, making it suitable for home kitchens seeking consistent results with meat, vegetables and pan-based dishes.

Advantages

The cast iron body provides strong thermal mass that helps maintain stable temperatures during cooking and supports efficient searing and crust formation. A 28 cm diameter offers a practical balance between capacity and maneuverability for family-sized portions. Compatibility with common hob types allows use across different kitchens, and the robust construction is designed to withstand frequent use over time.

Suitable for

When it may not be suitable

This cast iron frying pan is relatively heavy compared with thin stainless steel or aluminum pans, so users who need an ultra-light skillet for handling or transport may prefer a different material. It is not specified as oven-only cookware; while many cast iron pans tolerate oven use, you should verify oven temperature limits for your specific cookware and intended use.

How to use

Before first use, follow any manufacturer instructions for seasoning or initial treatment if provided. Preheat the pan gradually on the chosen hob to achieve even temperature, then add oil or fat as required for the recipe. Use moderate to high heat for searing and reduce heat for gentle frying or simmering. Avoid sudden thermal shocks such as rinsing a hot pan with cold water. Clean the pan according to care instructions—typically by hand washing and drying thoroughly—to preserve the cooking surface and prevent corrosion.

What to consider before purchase

Recommendations

Use medium-high heat for initial searing to develop a crust, then lower the heat to finish cooking. Dry the pan completely after washing and, if appropriate, apply a light layer of cooking oil to maintain the surface. Avoid abrasive cleaning tools that can remove seasoning.
