The compact fixed-blade design eliminates the moving parts of folding knives, providing immediate readiness and greater resistance to dirt and moisture.

How to use

Use the HELLE Sigmund as a dedicated fixed-blade tool for cutting, carving and dressing game. Hold the wooden handle with a secure grip and apply controlled strokes appropriate to the task: shallow, steady cuts for skinning and more deliberate pulls for carving wood. Keep the blade aligned with the intended cut and avoid twisting motions that can damage the edge. For safety, always cut away from the body and ensure a stable working position.

Recommendations

Maintain the blade with regular honing and occasional sharpening using stones suited to Scandinavian grinds. Clean and dry the knife after use, and treat the wooden handle with appropriate oils or waxes to preserve its appearance and durability. Store the knife in a dry place or in a protective sheath to prevent corrosion and accidental damage.
