3M 2-tie liitäntäadapteri 3/8 tuuman sisäkierre 3/8 tuuman ulkokierteeseen — Aircare malli 7000042680

3M 2-way coupling adapter 3/8" female to 3/8" male — Aircare model 7000042680 is a compact mechanical coupling designed to connect two fluid or air lines that share the same 3/8" thread size. The adapter provides a straightforward means to join a male-threaded hose or pipe to a female-threaded fitting without altering the run of the line. Constructed for workshop and service environments, it supports routine maintenance tasks on pneumatic systems, compressor lines and refrigeration circuits where a reliable threaded connection is required.

Advantages

The adapter offers a simple, space-saving solution to connect or extend 3/8" threaded lines, reducing downtime during repairs or reconfiguration. Its gender-changing layout lets technicians convert a female port into a male connection or vice versa without additional fittings. The design facilitates quick, repeatable installations and is compatible with common 3/8" hose and pipe fittings used in air and fluid handling applications.

How to use

Ensure both mating threaded fittings are clean and free of debris before assembly. Hand-start the adapter into the female or male fitting to avoid cross-threading, then tighten to the appropriate snugness using suitable wrenches; do not overtighten to avoid thread damage. If the system requires leak-tight seals, apply an appropriate thread sealant or tape compatible with the conveyed medium. After installation, pressurize the system gradually and inspect the joint for leaks before full operation.

Recommendations

Use the adapter only with lines and components rated for the working pressure and media in your system. Regularly inspect threaded connections for wear or corrosion and replace the adapter if threads become damaged. For refrigeration systems, ensure sealants and materials used are compatible with refrigerants and oils present in the circuit.
