BlueOptics 40G-QSFP-QSFP-AOC-0301-BO InfiniBand-kuituoptinen kaapeli 3 m

The BlueOptics 40G-QSFP-QSFP-AOC-0301-BO InfiniBand fibre optic cable 3 m is a 3-metre active optical cable with QSFP connectors on both ends, designed for high-speed server, switch and storage interconnects. It supports 40 Gbps links over short distances and is intended for data centre and high-performance computing environments where low latency and reliable throughput are required.

Advantages

This cable provides a compact and energy-efficient alternative to discrete transceivers and fibre patch cords by integrating optical transceivers into a single cable assembly. The QSFP-to-QSFP configuration reduces connector count and simplifies rack cabling while maintaining 40 Gbps throughput. Being an active optical cable it delivers lower insertion loss and stable performance across short reaches typical in rack and row deployments.

How to use

Unpack the cable and inspect connectors for visible damage before installation. Align the QSFP connector keying with the port and insert the connector until it latches; repeat for the second end. Ensure both connected devices are powered and configured to use 40 Gbps links and compatible InfiniBand or Ethernet settings. Avoid tight bends and route the cable to minimize stress on the connectors and maintain signal integrity.

Recommendations

For best performance, use this AOC within the recommended rack-to-rack or intra-rack distances, keep bend radius within the manufacturer’s limits, and avoid placing the cable near strong electromagnetic interference sources. Confirm compatibility with the QSFP ports on your switches and servers and ensure firmware or driver support for 40 Gbps interfaces.
