BlueOptics 4WM8D-BL InfiniBand-kuitu-kaapeli 3 m SFP+

The BlueOptics 4WM8D-BL InfiniBand fibre optic cable 3 m SFP+ is a 3-metre high-speed connection cable with SFP+ interfaces at both ends, intended for short-distance links in data centre and networking environments. Designed to support InfiniBand and other high-throughput protocols, the cable provides reliable low-latency transmission for server-to-switch and switch-to-switch connections in high-performance computing and storage systems. The passive construction offers consistent electrical and optical characteristics suitable for rack and adjacent-rack installations where standardized SFP+ connectivity is required.

Advantages

The cable delivers stable, low-latency performance for 10 Gbps-class links and is MSA-compliant for straightforward interoperability with SFP+ ports. Its 3 m length is optimised for intra-rack and neighbouring-rack connections, reducing the need for additional patch panels. As a passive direct attach solution, it combines low power consumption with a simple design that lowers the risk of component failure and reduces maintenance effort over time.

Suitable for

• High-performance computing clusters and InfiniBand networks
• Server-to-switch and switch-to-switch connections within racks
• Storage systems and SAN interconnects supporting SFP+ ports
• Short-distance data centre links where 3 m cable length is appropriate

Key specifications

• Connector type: SFP+ on both ends
• Cable length: 3 metres
• Supported protocols: InfiniBand and 10G-class Ethernet/FCoE/Fibre Channel where SFP+ passive cables are accepted
• Form factor: passive direct attach twinax style for short-range links
• MSA-compliant SFP+ interface for broad hardware compatibility

How to use

Install the BlueOptics 4WM8D-BL by inserting each SFP+ connector into the corresponding SFP+ port on the devices to be linked, ensuring proper orientation and an audible click to confirm seating. Use the 3 m cable to connect equipment within the same rack or adjacent racks; avoid tight bends and maintain recommended bend radii to preserve signal integrity. Verify that the connected devices support passive SFP+ direct attach twinax connections and configure network interfaces according to the vendor guidelines for InfiniBand or 10G Ethernet operation.

Recommendations

Store and handle the cable by supporting the connectors and avoiding kinks. For reliable operation, use the cable within temperature and humidity ranges specified by the host hardware vendor and confirm compatibility with the specific switch or server model before deployment.
