Aktiivinen optinen kaapeli (AOC) CBO SFP28-AOC-1M Marconi — 1 m SFP28

CBO Marconi SFP28-AOC-1M is a 1 meter Active Optical Cable (AOC) with SFP28 connectors engineered for 25GbE and other devices with compatible SFP28 ports. The pre-terminated fiber assembly delivers a low-latency optical link with immunity to electromagnetic interference, reduced weight and improved airflow compared with direct attach copper alternatives. Its 1 m length and SFP28 form-factor make it suitable for short-reach server-to-switch connections, top-of-rack cabling and data centre patching where reliable 25Gb links are required.

Advantages

The AOC provides consistent 25Gb performance over a fixed 1 m span with lower insertion loss compared with longer multimode copper assemblies. Optical transmission eliminates susceptibility to EMI and crosstalk, improving signal integrity in dense rack environments. Being pre-terminated with SFP28 connectors, the cable reduces installation time and the need for field terminations, while occupying less physical space and contributing to better rack airflow and thermal management.

Suitable for

• Short-reach server-to-switch connections in rack environments
• Top-of-rack (ToR) cabling between servers, switches and NICs
• Data centre interconnects and patching at 25 Gigabit Ethernet
• Environments requiring EMI-immune links and low latency

Key specifications

• Connector type: SFP28 to SFP28 optical
• Nominal length: 1 metre
• Supported data rate: 25 Gb/s per port (25GbE)
• Cable type: active optical cable (AOC) with pre-terminated transceivers
• Immunity: resistant to electromagnetic interference (EMI)
• Typical use: short-reach intra-rack and adjacent-rack connections

How to use

Insert each SFP28 connector into the corresponding 25GbE-capable SFP28 port on the network devices until the connector latches. Verify link LEDs and device port status to confirm link establishment. No additional fibre polishing or termination is required thanks to the factory-terminated design. For safe handling, avoid tight bends at the cable ends and do not apply excessive force when seating or removing the connectors.

Recommendations

Place the cable within recommended bend radius limits, maintain clear airflow around rack-mounted equipment, and ensure both ports support SFP28 optical modules and 25GbE operation. For best results in high-density installations, label both ends and plan cable routing to minimize cross-over and mechanical stress.
