Aktiivinen optinen kaapeli (AOC) CBO SFP28-AOC-2M 2 m SFP28-porteille

CBO SFP28-AOC-2M is a 2 m active optical cable (AOC) designed for SFP28 ports to provide a direct optical link between compatible networking devices. The cable integrates optical transceivers with a fixed fiber assembly, removing the need for separate transceivers and fiber patch cords. It supports 25 Gigabit Ethernet (25GbE) over a fixed 2‑metre link, delivering low-latency, high-throughput connectivity for short-reach interconnects in rack and row environments.

Advantages

The AOC offers a compact, lightweight and power-efficient alternative to discrete transceivers and patch cables, reducing connector points and simplifying cabling management. Its fixed assembly ensures plug-and-play interoperability with SFP28 ports that support active optical cables, while the optical medium provides electrical isolation and immunity to electromagnetic interference. The 2 m length is optimized for switch-to-server and top-of-rack connections where predictable short-reach performance is required.

Suitable for

• Data centre switch-to-server links
• Top-of-rack and inter-rack short-reach interconnects
• High-performance computing clusters with 25GbE ports
• Network upgrades requiring reduced cable bulk and improved airflow

Key specifications

• Form factor: SFP28 active optical cable
• Rated data rate: 25 Gigabit Ethernet (25GbE)
• Length: 2 metres (fixed)
• Connector type: SFP28 plug on each end
• Medium: optical fiber with integrated transceivers
• Typical use: short-reach direct links between SFP28 ports
• Electrical characteristics: low power consumption compared with separate transceivers

How to use

Install the AOC by inserting each SFP28 plug into the corresponding SFP28 port on the network devices until the latch engages. Ensure the devices are powered and that their firmware or port configuration supports active optical cables. No separate transceiver installation or fiber patching is required; the link should be detected automatically by compatible switches and servers. For removal, release the SFP28 latch and pull the connector straight out to avoid damaging the port.

Recommendations

Use the cable within its 2 m length for short-reach connections and avoid sharp bends or kinks in the optical assembly. Keep connectors clean and handle the cable by its reinforced boot or pull tab when inserting or removing. Confirm device compatibility with SFP28 active optical cables and verify port settings after installation to ensure the expected 25GbE link speed and low-latency performance.
