Aktiivinen optinen kaapeli CBO SFP28-AOC-10M Viavi 10 m SFP28 AOC

Active Optical Cable CBO SFP28-AOC-10M Viavi is a 10-metre SFP28 form-factor cable designed for 25Gbps short-reach links between servers, switches and storage equipment. The cable replaces copper direct-attach cables (DACs) with a lightweight optical assembly that maintains signal integrity at high data rates while reducing chassis and rack weight. Specifically intended for use with SFP28 ports, this AOC delivers a factory-terminated, low-latency connection that requires no separate transceivers and simplifies cable management in dense data centre and enterprise networking environments.

Advantages

The AOC provides consistent 25Gbps performance across its 10 m length while offering improved electromagnetic immunity compared with copper alternatives. Its factory-terminated optical connectors eliminate field termination and reduce installation time. The lightweight cable construction lowers physical strain on ports and racks, and the optical link reduces heat generation relative to equivalent active copper assemblies. The integrated design also reduces the number of components required in the infrastructure, simplifying inventory and deployment.

Suitable for

• 25Gbps server-to-switch connections in high-density racks
• Switch-to-switch uplinks and spine-leaf fabrics in data centres
• Storage array interconnects and SAN aggregation within short-reach spans
• Environments requiring reduced electromagnetic interference and improved signal integrity

Key specifications

• Form factor: SFP28 (integrated AOC)
• Maximum data rate: 25 Gbps per lane (supporting 25Gbps link)
• Length: 10 metres
• Connector type: factory-terminated SFP28 optical connectors
• Cable type: active optical cable with embedded transceivers
• Typical use: short-reach interconnects within racks and between adjacent racks

How to use

Install the Active Optical Cable by inserting each SFP28 end into the corresponding SFP28 port on the host devices until the latch engages. No additional transceiver modules or fibre patching is required. After insertion, verify link status and speed through the host operating system or network management tools and ensure both devices negotiate the expected 25Gbps link. Handle the cable by the connectors and route it to avoid sharp bends; maintain the specified bend radius and secure the cable to prevent excess strain on ports during operation.

Recommendations

For optimal reliability, use the AOC in matched SFP28 ports on supported hardware and verify compatibility with the switch or server vendor. Avoid tight bends and compression; ensure airflow around network equipment is not obstructed. Store unused cables in a clean, dry place and inspect connector endfaces for contamination before installation.
