AOC CBO Lenovo SFP-AOC-10G-7M 10G Active Optical kaapeli, SFP+ - SFP+, 7 m

The AOC CBO Lenovo SFP-AOC-10G-7M is a 10 Gigabit Active Optical Cable that connects SFP+ ports over a 7-meter distance. It is intended for direct server-to-switch, switch-to-switch and storage interconnects, combining optical transceivers and fiber in a single pre-terminated, factory-tested assembly. The single-cable design removes the need for separate transceivers and fiber patch cords, reducing rack clutter and simplifying installation in rack and data center environments.

Advantages

This AOC delivers 10 Gbit/s bandwidth with low latency and stable signal integrity across its full 7 m length. As an active optical solution, it offers improved electromagnetic immunity and lower power dissipation at the host compared with some copper passive alternatives. The pre-terminated, vendor-compatible cable reduces installation time and physical footprint, and its integrated design minimizes potential failure points associated with multiple connectors and patch panels.

Suitable for

• Direct server-to-switch connections in data centers
• High-speed switch-to-switch uplinks
• Storage area network links and SAN aggregation
• Environments requiring compact, low-latency cabling

Key specifications

• Data rate: 10 Gigabit per second (10 Gbit/s)
• Connector type: SFP+ to SFP+
• Cable type: Active Optical Cable (AOC)
• Length: 7 metres
• Typical use: Short-range high-speed interconnects in racks and data centers
• Electrical/optical interface: Compatible with SFP+ host ports supporting 10G signaling

How to use

Power down or follow hot-swap procedures for your equipment according to the vendor guidelines, if required. Insert each SFP+ end of the AOC into the corresponding SFP+ slot on the devices to be connected until the latch engages. Verify link LEDs and host interface status to confirm a successful connection. No separate transceivers, fiber patch leads or additional configuration are typically necessary beyond standard port setup and network configuration on the hosts and switches.

Recommendations

Install the cable in rack layouts that avoid sharp bends; maintain the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius for optical assemblies. Use the AOC for short-range 10G links inside racks or between adjacent racks and avoid exposing the cable to excessive tensile stress or abrasive surfaces. Follow host vendor compatibility lists where applicable before deployment.
