AOC CBO Marconi SFP-AOC-10G-5M 10G aktiivinen optinen kaapeli, 5 m

The AOC CBO Marconi SFP-AOC-10G-5M 10G Active Optical Cable, 5 m is a factory-terminated SFP+ active optical link that delivers 10 Gbps connectivity over a 5-meter duplex fiber channel. Intended for short-reach high-speed interconnects, this AOC establishes direct links between switches, servers and storage units with low latency and immunity to electromagnetic interference. The hot-pluggable SFP+ form factor allows fast installation and easy replacement in dense data center and enterprise rack environments.

Advantages

This Active Optical Cable provides a lightweight, low-power alternative to equivalent copper twinax solutions, reducing rack weight and improving airflow. Optical signaling minimizes crosstalk and EMI concerns in tightly packed cable bundles, while the SFP+ form factor supports hot-swap maintenance without powering down connected equipment. The fixed 5 m length removes the need for field termination and ensures predictable optical performance for short-reach applications.

Suitable for

• Top-of-rack and end-of-row switch-to-switch connections
• Server-to-switch links in high-density racks
• Storage array interconnects and SAN uplinks
• Low-latency interconnects in enterprise and data center environments

Key specifications

• Data rate: 10 Gbps full duplex
• Connector type: SFP+ hot-pluggable modules on both ends
• Media: active optical cable (AOC) with duplex optical fiber
• Length: 5 meters
• Typical reach: optimized for short-reach data center links
• Latency: low propagation delay suitable for high-performance networking
• EMI characteristics: immune to electromagnetic interference compared with copper

How to use

Insert each SFP+ module into the SFP+ ports of the devices to be connected, ensuring the link is aligned with the port orientation. The hot-pluggable design permits insertion and removal while devices remain powered, but follow your equipment manufacturer's ESD and handling guidelines. Once seated, verify link status via the network devices' interface indicators or management console. No additional transceivers or fiber patching is required because the cable is factory-terminated and ready for immediate use.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, avoid tight bends and sharp kinks; maintain the cable bend radius recommended by the manufacturer. Route the cable to prevent mechanical stress and to preserve airflow in racks. Confirm compatibility with the host devices' SFP+ ports and firmware support for AOC modules; when in doubt, test links in a controlled maintenance window before deploying in production.
