AOC CBO Viavi SFP-AOC-10G-1M aktiivinen optinen kaapeli 10G 1 m

The AOC CBO Viavi SFP-AOC-10G-1M Active Optical Cable 10G 1 m is a pre-terminated optical interconnect that delivers a native 10 Gigabit connection over a 1-metre link between compatible SFP+ ports. Engineered for short-reach, high-bandwidth links in data centre and enterprise network environments, the cable integrates optical transceivers and fibre in a single assembly to replace separate transceivers and patch cords. The design reduces cabling complexity and supports reliable 10G throughput with low latency for rack-to-rack or server-to-switch connections.

Advantages

The integrated active optical design removes the need for separate transceivers and fibre patch cables, simplifying installation and reducing points of failure. A 1 m cable length minimises signal loss for short-distance interconnects while providing full 10 Gigabit bandwidth. The single-assembly cable lowers rack clutter and can reduce power consumption compared with some short-range copper alternatives. Compatibility with standard SFP+ ports ensures straightforward deployment in environments that support SFP+ modules.

Suitable for

• Short-reach connections between switches in the same rack or adjacent racks
• Server-to-switch links within server cabinets
• Top-of-rack to aggregation layer interconnects in data centres
• Enterprise network segments requiring 10 Gigabit throughput with reduced cabling complexity

Key specifications

• Interface: SFP+ compatible form factor for both ends
• Nominal data rate: 10 Gigabits per second
• Link length: 1 metre (active optical cable)
• Cable type: Active optical assembly with integrated transceivers
• Typical application: Short-reach high-bandwidth interconnects
• Latency: Low, suitable for latency-sensitive traffic

How to use

Verify that both devices have SFP+ ports that support active optical cables and that firmware or platform compatibility is met. Insert each end of the AOC into the corresponding SFP+ port until the latch engages. Ensure devices recognise the module and establish a 10G link; check link LEDs or device management interfaces for status. For removal, release the port latch and pull the connector straight out, avoiding bending the cable sharply near the connector to preserve optical performance.

Recommendations

Use the cable for short, direct connections where a 1 m reach is sufficient. Avoid tight bends and excessive pulling force; maintain minimum bend radius specified by the manufacturer. Install within appropriate airflow and cable management pathways in racks to prevent obstruction and to maintain thermal performance of connected equipment.
