CBO aktiivinen optinen kaapeli SFP28-AOC-30M SonicWallille, 30 m, SFP28

The CBO Active Optical Cable SFP28-AOC-30M for SonicWall is a 30‑metre SFP28 active optical cable designed to provide 25 Gbps-class connectivity between compatible devices with SFP28 transceiver slots. Intended for use in data centres, server rooms and network closets, this BlueOptics AOC delivers a plug-and-play link that reduces cabling complexity and power consumption compared with equivalent copper solutions while maintaining low latency for medium-distance interconnects.

Advantages

This SFP28 AOC offers high-bandwidth 25 Gbps-class performance over a 30 m active optical link, combining the electrical compatibility of SFP28 form factor with the transmission benefits of multimode optical technology. The plug-and-play design requires no additional transceivers or configuration on supported SonicWall SFP28 ports, simplifying installation and reducing potential points of failure. Lower power draw and reduced electromagnetic interference compared to copper cables make it suitable for dense rack deployments.

Suitable for

• Connecting switches, firewalls and servers with SFP28 ports over medium distances (up to 30 m)
• High-speed uplinks and server-to-switch connections in data centres and server rooms
• Environments requiring reduced power consumption and lower EMI compared with copper cabling

Key specifications

• Form factor: SFP28 active optical cable
• Nominal data rate: 25 Gbps-class link
• Length: 30 metres
• Connector type: SFP28 plug on both ends
• Transmission medium: active optical (fiber) cable
• Low latency design suitable for data centre interconnects
• Plug-and-play compatibility with supported SFP28 ports

How to use

Ensure both devices have compatible SFP28 ports and are powered off or follow hot-swap guidelines from the device manufacturer. Insert each SFP28 connector into the corresponding port until it locks, then power on the devices or allow the ports to reinitialize. The link should establish automatically on supported SonicWall equipment; verify link status and speed in the device management interface. Route the cable to avoid tight bends and sharp edges and secure it to prevent strain on connectors.

Recommendations

Handle the active optical cable by the connector housings, avoid excessive bending near the cable ends, and maintain the specified minimum bend radius. Confirm firmware and hardware compatibility with your SonicWall device model before installation, and keep dust caps on unused connectors when not in use. For installation in dense racks, plan cable routing to maintain airflow and avoid contact with power cables to minimise interference and facilitate maintenance.
