CBO InfiniBand Active Optical -kaapeli QSFP-AOC-5M-CI-BO 5 m

CBO InfiniBand Active Optical Cable QSFP-AOC-5M-CI-BO 5 m is a QSFP-form-factor active optical cable designed for high-speed interconnects in data center environments. The 5-meter fiber link connects QSFP ports on switches, servers and storage arrays, delivering optical transmission that reduces electromagnetic interference and provides electrical isolation compared with copper direct-attach options. The cable is intended for short to medium distance links where low latency, reliable signal integrity and extended reach over copper are required.

Advantages

The active optical design offers lower weight and improved thermal performance versus comparable copper assemblies, while preserving the QSFP physical interface for simple deployment. Optical transmission reduces crosstalk and susceptibility to electromagnetic interference, enabling cleaner signals in dense rack and cable environments. The 5 m length provides flexibility for rack-to-rack or within-rack connections and supports the high data rates and low latency typical of InfiniBand networks.

Suitable for

• High-performance computing clusters and InfiniBand fabrics
• Inter-switch links in data centers
• Server-to-storage connections requiring electrical isolation
• Short- to medium-distance fiber connections inside racks or between adjacent racks

Key specifications

• Connector form factor: QSFP (Quad Small Form-factor Pluggable)
• Cable type: active optical cable (AOC)
• Length: 5 meters
• Designed for InfiniBand high-speed interconnects
• Low-latency optical transmission with electrical isolation
• Reduced electromagnetic interference and crosstalk compared with copper

How to use

Install the QSFP AOC by aligning and inserting each QSFP connector into the corresponding QSFP port on networking equipment until the latch engages. No additional transceivers or fiber patching is required, as the active optics and connectors are integrated into the assembly. Ensure both link endpoints support QSFP AOC modules and compatible InfiniBand link speeds. Avoid excessive bending of the cable; follow the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius guidelines and secure the cable to prevent strain on the connector ends.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, verify QSFP port compatibility and supported link speeds on switches, servers and storage devices before deployment. Keep the cable free from tight bends and mechanical stress, and route it to minimize exposure to heat sources. Regularly inspect connector ends for contamination and clean with appropriate fiber-cleaning tools when necessary.
