DAC-kaapeli CBO SFP28-DAC-3M 3 m passiivinen kupari SFP28 Direct Attach

CBO SFP28-DAC-3M is a 3-meter passive copper Direct Attach Cable with SFP28 connectors, engineered for 25GbE short-reach links. The cable provides a direct physical connection between compatible SFP28 ports on switches, servers and network adapters, offering low latency and energy-efficient operation without the need for separate transceivers. Its 3 m length is intended for rack-to-rack and within-rack interconnects where a stable 25 Gbit/s physical link is required.

Advantages

The passive DAC design delivers low power consumption and minimal latency compared with optics-based links. Integrated SFP28 connectors simplify installation and reduce component count. The fixed 3 m length reduces cable management complexity in dense rack environments and the copper construction avoids optical transceiver inventory and compatibility concerns. Overall, the cable offers a cost-effective option for establishing reliable 25Gbps links in data centre and server room topologies.

Suitable for

• Rack-to-rack short-reach 25 Gigabit Ethernet interconnects
• Within-rack connections between top-of-rack switches and servers
• Direct connections between network adapters and switches for storage and compute clusters
• Environments prioritising low-latency and low-power links

Key specifications

• Connector type: SFP28 on both ends
• Cable type: Passive copper direct-attach
• Data rate: 25 Gbit/s per lane (supporting 25GbE links)
• Length: 3 metres
• Typical applications: Short-reach interconnects in racks and data centres

How to use

Verify both endpoints have compatible SFP28 ports and support passive DAC connections. With network equipment powered off or following hot-plug guidelines from the vendor, insert each SFP28 connector into the respective port until it latches. Route the 3 m cable to avoid tight bends and mechanical strain, keeping it clear of fans and moving parts. After installation, power up devices or enable the ports and confirm link negotiation and 25GbE status via the switch or host interface.

Recommendations

Use this passive DAC for short-distance 25GbE links within racks or between adjacent racks. Avoid exceeding recommended bend radii, protect connectors from contaminants when not in use, and consult equipment vendor documentation for compatibility and hot-plug procedures to ensure reliable operation.
