BlueOptics InfiniBand/kuitukaapeli AFBR-8CER25Z-BC-BO — 25 m, SFP28 uros-uros, oranssi

BlueOptics InfiniBand/fibre optic cable AFBR-8CER25Z-BC-BO is a 25 m active optical cable (AOC) with SFP28 male connectors on both ends, designed for high-speed server, switch and storage interconnects. The cable uses multimode optical transmission with integrated transmitter and receiver modules at each end and complies with SFP28 connection conventions for 25G links. A slim orange jacket aids visual identification in data center cabling and the cable’s lightweight construction simplifies routing in short- to mid-reach environments.

Advantages

The BlueOptics AFBR-8CER25Z-BC-BO provides a single-cable solution for 25G multimode links, combining transceiver electronics and multimode fiber in a factory-terminated assembly to reduce field termination and testing. Its SFP28-to-SFP28 interface follows MSA-compatible form factors, enabling interoperability with equipment that supports SFP28 AOCs. The orange jacket improves traceability in dense rack installations while the 25 m length covers typical intra-rack and inter-rack connections without active electrical repeaters.

Suitable for

• 25G data center links between servers, switches and storage
• High-bandwidth short- to mid-reach interconnects (up to 25 m)
• MSA-compliant SFP28 ports on switches, routers and storage appliances

Key specifications

• Cable length: 25 m
• Connector type: SFP28 to SFP28 (male-to-male)
• Supported data rate: up to 25 Gbit/s
• Fiber type: multimode (integrated AOC transceivers)
• Product colour: orange
• Weight: approx. 0.07 kg

How to use

Install the cable by inserting each SFP28 connector into the corresponding SFP28 port on networking equipment until the latch engages. Ensure both devices support SFP28 active optical cables and are configured for the intended 25G link protocol (Ethernet, Fibre Channel over Ethernet, or other supported transport). Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and mechanical strain; maintain the minimum bend radius recommended by the equipment vendor. No field termination or optical cleaning is required for the factory-assembled AOC, but verify link status in the device management interface after connection.

Recommendations

Use this BlueOptics 25 m SFP28 AOC for short- to mid-reach 25G connections in racks and point-to-point links. Confirm compatibility with the host device vendor’s supported SFP28 AOC list and follow standard data center cable management practices to preserve performance and avoid excessive bend stress.
