BlueOptics Q28-AOC-50M-LE-BO InfiniBand-kuituoptinen kaapeli 50 m QSFP28 uros/uros

The BlueOptics Q28-AOC-50M-LE-BO InfiniBand fibre optic cable 50m QSFP28 Male/Male is a 50-metre active optical cable engineered for high-speed, low-latency connections in data centres and professional networking environments. It uses QSFP28 male connectors to provide a compact, hot-pluggable interface suitable for modern switches, servers and storage systems that require InfiniBand or high-bandwidth Ethernet links. The cable is intended to deliver consistent signal integrity and reliable throughput over a 50 m reach where copper alternatives are impractical.

Advantages

This active optical cable offers high aggregated bandwidth and low insertion loss, supporting demanding data transfer workloads while reducing electromagnetic interference compared with copper cabling. The QSFP28 form factor provides a standardized, space-efficient connector that simplifies port density on switches and hosts. As an optical solution, it supports longer reach and better thermal performance in dense rack environments, while maintaining compatibility with equipment that accepts QSFP28 InfiniBand interfaces.

Suitable for (tasks / use cases)

• High-speed server-to-switch or switch-to-switch connections in data centres
• Storage area networks and clustered storage interconnects
• High performance computing (HPC) and InfiniBand fabric deployments
• Low-latency trading platforms and real-time data processing nodes
• Environments requiring optical links over distances up to 50 metres

Key specifications

• Connector type: QSFP28 male to QSFP28 male
• Cable type: Active Optical Cable (AOC)
• Length: 50 metres
• Application: InfiniBand / high-bandwidth networking
• Performance: designed for high data rates and low latency
• Physical: lightweight optical construction suitable for rack cabling

How to use

Install the cable by aligning each QSFP28 male connector with the corresponding QSFP28 port on your switches, servers or host adapters and insert until the connector latches. Ensure both ends are connected to compatible ports supporting the intended InfiniBand or Ethernet protocol. Avoid sharp bends and excessive mechanical stress along the optical cable; maintain recommended bend radius to preserve signal quality. No external power or transceivers are required beyond the host ports that supply necessary electrical signalling for AOC operation.

Recommendations

Inspect connector ends before installation to remove any dust or debris and use dust caps when ports are unused. Route the cable to avoid tight bends and heat sources; secure with non-compressive cable management to prevent strain. Confirm firmware and port settings on network devices for compatibility with QSFP28 InfiniBand links and test links after installation to verify expected bandwidth and latency.
