SFP+ AOC-kaapeli CBO SonicWall SFP-AOC-10G-30M 10G 30 m

The SFP+ AOC cable CBO for SonicWall SFP-AOC-10G-30M 10G 30m is an active optical cable in SFP+ form factor designed for short-range 10 Gigabit Ethernet links. It uses a multimode optical fiber compatible with OM3/OM4 standards to deliver a 10 Gbps connection over a 30 metre channel. The cable is plug-and-play with SFP+ ports and is intended for direct attach connections between switches, routers, firewalls and other network appliances that accept SFP+ transceivers.

Advantages

This AOC provides full 10 Gbps throughput with low latency and minimal signal degradation across the 30 m distance. Being optical, it eliminates common electrical interference issues and reduces electromagnetic emissions compared with copper direct-attach options. The SFP+ form factor offers hot-pluggable installation and compatibility with standard SFP+ cages, while the integrated design removes the need for separate transceiver modules and external cabling terminations.

Suitable for

• 10 Gigabit short-reach connections between network switches
• High-speed links to routers, firewalls or security appliances with SFP+ ports
• Data centre top-of-rack or aggregation connections up to 30 metres
• Environments requiring low electromagnetic interference and stable high bandwidth

Key specifications

• Data rate: 10 Gbps
• Form factor: SFP+
• Cable type: Active optical cable (multimode)
• Multimode compatibility: OM3 / OM4
• Maximum length: 30 metres
• Connector: SFP+ plug on both ends
• Typical use: Short-range interconnect between network devices

How to use

Ensure both devices have compatible SFP+ ports and are powered off or support hot-plugging. Insert each SFP+ end of the AOC into the SFP+ cages on the two devices until it latches. Power on the devices or allow the hot-plug detection to complete. Configure the network interfaces according to your switch or appliance settings, verify link status and negotiate 10 Gbps operation where applicable. No additional transceivers or fiber patch cords are required.

Recommendations

Route the cable to avoid tight bends and mechanical stress; maintain the minimum bend radius specified by the manufacturer to preserve optical performance. Use in environments within the supported temperature and humidity ranges of your network equipment. For mixed-vendor environments, confirm compatibility with the specific SonicWall appliance or switch firmware to ensure proper link negotiation and status reporting.
