CBO AOC BlueOptics BO353503J1M 10G SFP+ aktiivinen optinen kaapeli, 1 m

The CBO AOC BlueOptics BO353503J1M 10G SFP+ Active Optical Cable, 1 m is a factory-terminated optical direct-attach solution for 10 Gbps SFP+ interfaces. This 1 metre active optical cable integrates optical transceivers and a pre-assembled fibre link in a single cable assembly, eliminating the need for separate SFP+ transceivers. It is intended for short-reach connections in data centres and high-performance network environments where low latency and reduced power consumption are important.

Advantages

This active optical cable offers plug-and-play installation and a compact one-piece design that reduces rack and port space compared with traditional transceiver plus fibre assemblies. The integrated optical link provides consistent 10 Gbps throughput with minimal signal loss and lower power draw than equivalent electrical copper DACs over similar distances. Compatibility with standard SFP+ ports ensures straightforward replacement or new deployments without additional configuration.

Suitable for

• Top-of-rack and end-of-row switch interconnects in data centres
• Server-to-switch or server-to-storage links requiring 10 Gbps bandwidth
• High-speed aggregation links and short-reach fibre runs within telecom racks

Key specifications

• Interface type: SFP+ plug-and-play active optical cable
• Data rate: 10 Gbps full-duplex
• Cable length: 1 metre
• Optical medium: multi-mode optical fibre within the AOC assembly
• Latency profile: low-latency optical transmission suitable for high-performance networking
• Power consumption: lower than equivalent active electrical cable solutions for short reaches
• Connector form factor: SFP+ compliant ends for direct insertion into SFP+ ports

How to use

Insert each SFP+ connector into the corresponding SFP+ port on the two devices to be connected, ensuring the cable latch engages. No external transceivers or fibre connectors are required. Once seated, devices typically recognise the link automatically and negotiate a 10 Gbps connection according to standard SFP+ behaviour. Observe proper handling of the optical cable to avoid tight bends and mechanical strain on the connectors.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, use the cable within recommended ambient temperature ranges and avoid bending the cable below the minimum bend radius. Verify the connected devices support SFP+ active optical cable modules; consult device documentation for any vendor compatibility notes before deployment. For short data-centre links, the 1 m AOC provides a low-latency, low-power option compared with separate transceiver plus patch-fibre setups.
