CBO AOC SFP+ BlueOptics BO353503J3M 10G aktiivinen optinen kaapeli, 3 m

CBO AOC SFP+ BlueOptics BO353503J3M 10G active optical cable, 3 m is a factory-terminated SFP+ direct-attach solution engineered for 10 Gbps short-reach interconnects. The 3-meter active optical assembly integrates optical transceivers and a fixed cable, enabling high-speed links between switches, servers and network interface cards with SFP+ ports. The design reduces electromagnetic interference and crosstalk compared with copper alternatives while maintaining low latency and consistent signal integrity over the specified distance.

Advantages

The active optical cable delivers 10 Gbps throughput with low power consumption and stable performance for rack-to-rack and in-rack connections. Its factory-terminated SFP+ connectors simplify installation and eliminate the need for separate transceivers and fibre patch cords. Because the cable is optical rather than copper, it provides improved resistance to electromagnetic interference and lighter cabling weight, which helps reduce rack congestion and cooling loads.

Suitable for

• High-speed links between network switches in data centers
• Server-to-switch connections within racks
• Direct attach to SFP+-equipped NICs for storage and compute nodes
• Short-range aggregation and top-of-rack interconnects

Key specifications

• Interface: SFP+ to SFP+ (active optical cable)
• Maximum data rate: 10 Gbps
• Cable length: 3 meters (fixed)
• Media type: optical fibre with integrated transceivers
• Typical latency: low, suitable for low-latency switching environments
• EMI characteristics: inherently immune to electromagnetic interference compared with copper cabling
• Form factor: hot-pluggable SFP+ connectors

How to use

Install the active optical cable by inserting each SFP+ connector into the corresponding SFP+ port on the two devices to be connected. Ensure both devices are powered and that SFP+ ports are enabled and configured for 10 Gbps operation if required. No separate optical transceivers or patch cords are necessary because the cable is factory-terminated and integrates the optical modules. After insertion, verify link status through device LEDs or management interfaces and check for expected link speed and error statistics.

Recommendations

Use the cable for short-range, high-bandwidth connections within racks and between adjacent racks; avoid sharp bends and maintain the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius. Keep connector dust caps until installation and handle SFP+ end modules by the housing to prevent contamination. When mixing vendors, confirm compatibility with the network equipment and consider testing in a lab environment before deployment.
