With built-in 8 kV surge protection, the DAP-3712 has protection against unexpected surges (such as lightning strikes), enabling it to be deployed where it’s needed, even in harsh environments and tough conditions.

The DAP-3712 supports TDMA technology, creating a schedule for the bridge's access point and the client. The sender and receiver are allocated a time slot for transmissions, eliminating hidden node data collisions, maximising airtime efficiency, significantly cutting down interference, and dramatically improving the transfer rate.

How to use

Mount the DAP-3712 in a location with clear line-of-sight to the remote endpoint and secure the unit using suitable outdoor mounting hardware. Connect a PoE-enabled switch or injector to the Gigabit Ethernet port to power the device and establish the wired connection. Use the device web interface or management tools to configure bridge or point-to-point settings, align the directional antenna toward the remote unit for optimal signal, and verify link status and throughput. Ensure compliance with local regulations for outdoor wireless installations.

Recommendations

For best long-range performance, install the bridge with unobstructed line-of-sight, perform careful antenna alignment, and allow TDMA scheduling to stabilise after initial setup. Use surge protection and properly grounded mounts in exposed outdoor environments.
