D-Link Wireless AC1200 Wave2 Dualband Outdoor PoE -tukiasema

The D-Link DAP-3666 Wireless AC1200 Wave 2 Dual-Band Outdoor PoE Access Point is a weather-resistant outdoor access point supporting 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands with combined wireless rates up to 1200 Mbps. It supports MU-MIMO for simultaneous high-bandwidth connections, Passpoint® (Hotspot 2.0) for seamless network discovery and login, and Power over Ethernet (PoE) for simplified outdoor deployment. The device includes two Ethernet LAN ports and two external antennas and is suitable for creating outdoor wireless hotspot networks with centralised management via D-Link Nuclias Connect software or the Nuclias Connect Hub (DNH-100).

Advantages

The DAP-3666 delivers Wave 2 802.11ac performance with MU-MIMO to improve multi-client throughput and reduce contention. Its outdoor-hardened housing and PoE support simplify installation in challenging environments. Passpoint certification ensures automatic and secure user authentication for hotspot scenarios. Centralised management through Nuclias Connect allows remote configuration, monitoring and maintenance of multiple access points from a single interface.

Suitable for

• Outdoor public hotspots (parks, plazas, tourist areas)
• Campus and venue wireless extension
• Outdoor coverage for cafes, hotels and venues
• Remote sites requiring PoE-powered APs

How to use

Mount the DAP-3666 in a suitable outdoor location with line-of-sight to the coverage area and provide power and network connectivity via a PoE-enabled switch or PoE injector. Configure SSIDs, security settings and Passpoint/Hotspot 2.0 parameters using D-Link Nuclias Connect software or the Nuclias Connect Hub (DNH-100). Place the access point so that antennas are oriented according to site requirements and verify network operation through the management interface.

Recommendations

For best performance, separate SSIDs across 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz where density and client capability allow, position the AP to minimise physical obstructions, and use Nuclias Connect for centralised monitoring and firmware updates. Ensure PoE source meets IEEE 802.3af requirements and follow local regulations for outdoor mounting.
