D-SUB-kaapeli ShiverPeaks 9-napainen (D-Sub) uros-uros, 5 m pituus

The D-SUB cable ShiverPeaks 9-pin (D-sub) male-to-male, 5 m length is a shielded serial connection cable designed for equipment that uses a DB9 interface. It provides a standard 9-pin D-sub connection for RS-232 and other legacy serial protocols, offering a 5 metre reach suitable for connecting modems, PLCs, CNC controllers, POS terminals and test instrumentation. The cable assembly uses two male DB9 connectors and standard pinout to ensure compatibility with point-to-point serial links and many industrial devices.

Advantages

This cable features a shielded design to reduce electromagnetic interference and preserve signal integrity over its 5 m length. The male-to-male DB9 configuration follows the common 9-pin pinout for serial communications, making it compatible with a wide range of devices that rely on D-sub connectors. The construction prioritizes mechanical durability at connector ends and consistent electrical contact to support reliable data transfer in industrial and commercial environments.

Suitable for

• Connecting RS-232 serial ports between computers and modems
• Wiring PLCs, CNC controllers and industrial automation equipment
• Point-of-sale (POS) systems and legacy peripherals
• Instrumentation and test equipment requiring D-sub 9-pin links

Key specifications

• Connector type: male-to-male D-sub 9-pin (DB9)
• Cable length: 5 metres
• Shielding: braided or foil shield (shielded cable construction)
• Pinout: standard 9-pin D-sub serial pin configuration for RS-232 and compatible serial protocols
• Common use: serial data transfer, point-to-point connections, industrial cabling

How to use

Identify the DB9 serial ports on both devices and align the male connectors with the corresponding female ports or mating connectors as required by your setup. Secure the connectors using the built-in screws if mating to female DB9 ports to ensure a stable mechanical connection. For typical RS-232 connections, no additional configuration is required in the cable itself; configure serial parameters (baud rate, parity, stop bits, flow control) in the connected devices or host software to match the communication settings of the remote device. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and strong electromagnetic sources to preserve signal quality.

Recommendations

For best results in industrial or noisy environments, ensure both device enclosures are properly grounded and use the cable shielding termination points where available. Avoid running the cable in parallel with high-voltage lines and maintain gentle bend radii to prolong connector and cable life.
