Why choose it

The Sony Starvis sensor excels in low-light environments, capturing clear images where ordinary sensors struggle. With UVC compliance, no driver installation is needed on most modern operating systems—just plug and play. The fixed-focus lens eliminates adjustment hassles, and the 1.5 m cable offers flexibility in mounting. Whether for a prototype or a production run, this module provides consistent, high-quality imaging.

Ideal use cases

• Industrial machine vision and quality inspection
• Document scanning and OCR systems
• Security and surveillance cameras
• Robotics and autonomous vehicles
• Kiosks, ATMs, and interactive displays

Good to know

The module supports both YUY2 and MJPG formats, allowing you to balance bandwidth and compression based on your application. Automatic controls for white balance, exposure, and gain ensure optimal image quality without manual tuning. The wide operating temperature range makes it suitable for harsh environments. Note that the field of view is 48° diagonal, which is narrower than typical wide-angle modules, making it ideal for focused, detail-oriented tasks.
