Kuitukaapelin kytkin EFB LC monimuoto OM2 — duplex-passiiviadapteri

The EFB LC Multi-Mode OM2 — Duplex Passive Adapter is a compact fiber network coupler designed to join, reroute or adapt duplex LC multi-mode OM2 fiber links without active components. Intended for straightforward, tool-free installation in data centers, telecom racks and network closets, this passive coupler preserves optical continuity between two LC duplex connectors and enables gender or port adaptation for existing multi-mode fiber runs.

Advantages

This passive LC coupler supports OM2 multi-mode fiber interfaces and provides a simple, space-saving solution for connecting or converting LC duplex links. Its compact duplex format reduces rack and patch panel clutter and allows quick replacement of damaged or missing adapters. As a passive component, it requires no power and introduces only the physical interface needed to maintain continuity of the optical path.

Suitable for

• Extending or converting LC duplex multi-mode OM2 fiber connections
• Repairing or replacing damaged LC duplex adapters in patch panels and modules
• Temporary or permanent rerouting of duplex LC fiber links in data centers and telecom rooms
• Organizing and adapting fiber runs during maintenance or network upgrades

Key specifications

• Connector type: LC duplex
• Fiber type compatibility: Multi-mode OM2
• Function: Passive adapter / coupler for optical continuity and gender/port adaptation
• Format: Duplex (two LC ports)
• Installation: Tool-free, panel or faceplate mountable in compatible housings

How to use

Ensure that connected fibers are clean and that endfaces are free from dust or debris before mating. Insert the LC duplex connectors from each fiber cable into the corresponding adapter ports until they click into place, ensuring correct alignment for duplex pairs. For replacement or rerouting, remove the existing adapter by releasing the connector latch and pull straight out, then insert the EFB coupler in the same position. Verify link continuity and expected optical performance with appropriate testing equipment after installation.

Recommendations

Use proper fiber cleaning tools and inspection microscopes to minimize insertion loss. Avoid bending fibers sharply near the adapter and secure cables to reduce mechanical stress. Match the adapter to OM2 multi-mode cabling to ensure expected modal performance; for different fiber classes or single-mode systems, select the appropriate adapter type.
