Extralink kaapelinvetotanko Pilot 9mm 150m kuitu GFK keltainen

The Extralink Cable pulling rod Pilot 9mm 150m is a glass fibre (FRP) rod designed for pulling and installing cables in telecommunications and electrical projects. With a 9 mm diameter and 150 m length, the rod is highly flexible yet resistant to bending and tearing. The assembly includes a powder-coated blue frame with a drum, manual brake and an eyelet guide. The fibre is covered with yellow PE plastic for protection and improved gliding, and the fibre end is finished with a guide head to simplify insertion into conduits and ducts.

Advantages

The FRP construction provides a balance of elasticity and tensile strength, allowing the rod to navigate bends without permanent deformation. The yellow PE coating protects the glass fibre from abrasion and reduces friction during pulling operations, while the bright colour improves visibility on site. The powder-coated blue frame with a manual brake secures the drum for controlled unwinding and convenient transport. The integrated eyelet and finished guide head facilitate accurate routing through conduits and reduce the risk of snagging.

Suitable for

• Installing telecommunication and fibre optic cables in ducts and conduits
• Electrical cable routing in residential and commercial buildings
• Pulling cables through underground and overhead cable trays where a flexible rod is required
• Maintenance and retrofit works that require precise guiding of cables

Key specifications

• Material: glass fibre (FRP) with yellow PE protective coating
• Rod diameter: 9 mm
• Rod length: 150 m
• Frame: powder-coated metal frame (blue) with drum
• Brake: manual brake to lock the drum
• Features: eyelet guide and finished guide head on the fibre end
• Properties: high elasticity, resistance to bending and tearing, low friction surface

How to use

Place the drum on a stable surface or use the integrated frame for transport and deployment. Release the manual brake and feed the guide head into the conduit or duct, then push the rod forward while rotating or guiding as needed to navigate bends. When the required length has been inserted, lock the drum with the manual brake to prevent rewinding. Attach the cable to the guide head or eyelet according to cable-pulling best practices, then pull the rod back slowly to draw the cable through the conduit. Inspect the rod and protective coating after use and rewind the fibre onto the drum for storage.

Recommendations

Use appropriate personal protective equipment and follow local safety rules for cable installation. Avoid sharp impacts or excessive bending radii beyond the rod's capacity. Clean any debris from conduits before pushing the rod, and inspect the yellow PE coating periodically for wear; replace the rod if the glass fibre is exposed. For long pulls or difficult routes consider using lubricant compatible with PE coatings and follow recommended tension limits for the cable being installed.
