Fiskars Norden 1071897 veistoveitsi ergonomisella kahvalla ja ruostumattomalla terällä

Fiskars Norden 1071897 with ergonomic handle and stainless steel blade is a wood carving knife designed for precise hand shaping and detailed woodworking. The tool combines a contoured handle that supports prolonged use with a corrosion-resistant stainless steel blade suitable for whittling, carving small parts and finishing edges. Its compact form factor and balanced weight distribution provide control for intricate cuts and surface smoothing on soft and hardwoods.

Advantages

The ergonomic handle reduces hand fatigue during extended carving sessions and improves grip control for fine movements. The stainless steel blade maintains a sharp edge for detailed shaping and is resistant to oxidation, requiring only routine maintenance. The knife’s compact size and balance make it easy to maneuver in tight areas and for detailed relief work, while a sturdy construction ensures consistent performance over repeated use.

Suitable for

• Whittling and small sculptural carving
• Detail work on furniture components and trim
• Creating spoons, handles and small utensils
• Hobbyist and professional shaping of softwoods and hardwoods

Key specifications

• Blade material: stainless steel for corrosion resistance and edge retention
• Handle design: ergonomic profile for improved grip and reduced fatigue
• Tool type: fixed-blade wood carving knife for precision manual work
• Intended use: hand carving, whittling and finishing small wooden elements

How to use

Hold the Fiskars Norden carving knife with the ergonomic handle to maintain a steady, controlled grip. Use short, controlled strokes for removing thin shavings and longer, guided passes for smoothing surfaces. Keep the blade at appropriate angles to the workpiece for different cuts: flatter for slicing and slightly tilted for shaping and detail work. Regularly check the blade edge and perform light sharpening as needed to retain optimal cutting performance. Store the knife in a dry place after cleaning and apply light oil to the blade to prevent surface oxidation.

Recommendations

For safer and more precise results, work with a secure clamping method or carving glove when performing detailed cuts. Sharpen the blade with fine stones or strops and maintain the ergonomic handle clean and dry to ensure consistent grip during extended sessions.
