GIRA 228403 Smart Home Controller KNX logiikkamoduuli

Managing a KNX smart home often requires a separate PC or gateway, leaving the system dependent on a computer that must stay running. The GIRA 228403 Smart Home Controller solves this by embedding a complete KNX logic engine and visualization server directly on the DIN rail. It takes over automation, scene control, and remote access without any additional hardware, so your installation remains self-contained and reliable.

Who is it for

This controller is for KNX installers and system integrators who need a compact, rail-mounted device to handle logic, timers, scenes, and visualization for residential or small commercial projects. It is also suitable for homeowners who want a robust smart home hub that works even when no PC is on the network.

Main features

• Runs up to 250 logic functions, 125 timers, 125 scene functions, and 125 presence simulations.
• Built-in visualization server for up to 10 simultaneous clients using the Gira Smart Home App.
• Connects to the KNX bus and to the local network via Ethernet (RJ45).
• Supports KNXnet/IP, DHCP, NTP, and TLS for secure communication.
• Powered directly from the KNX bus (24 V DC), consuming max. 2 W.
• DIN rail mounting, 4 TE wide, IP20 plastic housing.
• Configured with Gira Project Assistant (GPA), including firmware updates.

Tips

When planning the installation, ensure the controller is placed in a DIN rail enclosure with adequate ventilation. For remote access, configure port forwarding or a VPN on the router and use TLS to protect communication. The Gira Project Assistant software is required for commissioning; always check for firmware updates to benefit from the latest features and security patches.
