Abrasive discs 3M Hookit 255P P220 150 mm are coated sanding discs designed for surface preparation and finishing on wood, paint, primer and metal. The discs are sized for 150 mm Hookit-style backing pads and supplied in a pack of 100 to support repeated sanding tasks in workshops and production environments. The hook-and-loop attachment system ensures fast, secure mounting and quick disc changes to keep workflows efficient.

Advantages

These 3M Hookit abrasive discs combine consistent abrasive performance with a reliable hook-and-loop fastening system. The P220 grit offers uniform material removal and a fine finish without aggressive cutting, reducing the need for touch-ups. The 150 mm diameter provides a balance of coverage and control on handheld sanders and orbital machines. Supplied in a multi-unit pack, they reduce downtime for replenishment and are suitable for medium-to-high volume sanding operations.

Key specifications

How to use

Attach a 150 mm Hookit backing pad to your compatible sander. Align the disc with the pad and press firmly so the hook-and-loop system secures the abrasive disc in place. Start sanding with moderate pressure and move the sander evenly across the surface to avoid gouging. For paint and primer, sand until the desired feathered edge or surface smoothness is achieved; for wood, follow the grain and check the surface frequently. Replace the disc when abrasive performance declines to maintain consistent results.

Recommendations

Use appropriate personal protective equipment such as eye protection and a dust mask when sanding. For best results, keep discs dry and store packs in a clean, low-humidity environment. When working on sensitive finishes, test on a small area to confirm grit suitability and progress to finer or coarser grit as needed.
