INTER-TECH kaapeli SFF-8654-8i 2× SFF-8654-4i, 70 cm sisäinen jakokaapeli

INTER-TECH cable SFF-8654-8i to 2× SFF-8654-4i, 70 cm internal split cable is an internal high-speed data link designed to split a single 8-lane SFF-8654 connection into two independent 4-lane SFF-8654 links. Intended for use inside servers, storage enclosures and rack systems, the cable supports SAS/SATA backplanes and controllers that use SFF-8654 interfaces while keeping signal integrity and a compact routing profile within chassis interiors.

Advantages

The cable provides a reliable internal splitting solution that reduces the need for additional adapters or complex re-wiring. With a fixed 70 cm length and matched high-speed pairs, it maintains signal quality for multi-lane SAS/SATA configurations while simplifying cable management in dense rack environments. The single-cable split reduces clutter and offers straightforward installation without external converters.

Suitable for

• Connecting a single SFF-8654-8i controller port to two SFF-8654-4i backplane inputs
• Internal cabling inside 1U–4U server and storage chassis
• Upgrading or organizing cabling in data center rack systems
• Environments requiring maintained lane separation for SAS/SATA devices

Key specifications

• Connector A: SFF-8654-8i (single 8-lane internal connector)
• Connector B: 2 × SFF-8654-4i (two separate 4-lane internal connectors)
• Length: 70 cm (fixed, internal cable)
• Application: Internal high-speed SAS/SATA lane splitting
• Cable type: Multi-lane shielded internal data cable with matched pairs
• Mounting location: Internal server/storage chassis routing

How to use

Install the cable inside a powered-down system by seating the SFF-8654-8i connector into the appropriate controller or host port and routing the split ends to the two SFF-8654-4i backplane or device inputs. Ensure connectors are aligned with the receptacles and fully seated to secure electrical contact. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and interference from fans or hot components, and secure it with existing cable ties or chassis clips to prevent strain on the connectors. Power on the system after installation and verify that both linked lanes are recognized by the controller and devices.

Recommendations

Use this internal split cable only with compatible SFF-8654 ports and equipment. Avoid excessive bending radii and maintain separation from high-power or high-heat sources. For optimal performance, follow server or backplane vendor guidance regarding internal cable routing and lane assignment, and confirm firmware or controller settings when splitting a single 8-lane port across two 4-lane targets.
