Tapo C260 is a Pan/Tilt AI home security Wi‑Fi camera with ultra‑clear 4K (8MP) resolution designed to record detailed video of your home. The camera supports smooth pan and tilt movement, precise smart motion tracking, up to 18x digital zoom, a sensitive starlight sensor for low‑light clarity, two‑way audio, and flexible local or cloud storage options. Face recognition runs locally on the device to categorize events and reduce false alarms while preserving privacy. The compact camera includes an L‑shaped mounting bracket for ceiling or wall installation and supports easy Bluetooth onboarding via the Tapo App.

Advantages

The Tapo C260 delivers high‑resolution 4K footage that preserves fine details and supports up to 18x digital zoom for closer inspection. On‑device AI performs face recognition and event categorization locally to minimize false alerts and protect personal data. Pan/tilt mechanics and smart motion tracking keep people and pets in view, while the starlight sensor improves image quality in low light. Privacy features include customizable block zones and a one‑tap physical lens cover in the app. Additional conveniences include two‑way audio, Tapo sharing, Bluetooth setup, and an L‑shaped bracket for versatile mounting.

Key specifications

Resolution: 4K UHD (8MP)
Digital zoom: Up to 18x
Movement: Pan and tilt support
AI features: Local face recognition, person/pet/vehicle detection, sound detection (e.g., baby crying)
Low‑light: Starlight sensor for improved low‑light performance
Privacy: Custom block zones and one‑tap physical lens cover via app
Audio: Two‑way audio
Storage: microSD card support up to 512 GB; optional Tapo Care cloud storage
Mounting: L‑shaped bracket for ceiling and wall installation
Setup: Bluetooth onboarding through the Tapo App

How to use

Install the camera using the included L‑shaped mounting bracket on a wall or ceiling, connect power, and open the Tapo App. Follow the Bluetooth onboarding process in the app to add the camera to your Wi‑Fi network. Configure basic settings such as resolution, motion detection sensitivity, and two‑way audio. Create custom activity zones and set block zones to prevent recording of private areas. For local recording insert a microSD card (up to 512 GB) or subscribe to Tapo Care for cloud backup. Use the app to pan and tilt the camera, zoom in on recorded footage, review categorized events, and share access with family members if needed.

Recommendations

Place the camera at a height and angle that maximizes its pan/tilt coverage and avoids direct bright light sources to improve image quality. Regularly update the Tapo App and the camera firmware, and use a high‑quality microSD card if recording locally. Configure block zones for areas where privacy is required and test notifications and AI detection settings to reduce false alarms.
