Kaapeliadapteri RJ-45 ShiverPeaks BS08-01042

The ShiverPeaks BS08-01042 Cable Gender Changer RJ-45 is a compact adapter that converts the plug gender of Ethernet connectors to enable direct connection between two RJ-45 cables or to adapt cable ends for existing network equipment. The device has a slim black housing and gold-plated contacts to ensure consistent electrical contact and resistance to corrosion, supporting reliable signal transmission in typical networking environments.

Advantages

This RJ-45 gender changer provides a simple and space-saving solution when extending or reconfiguring Ethernet cabling without replacing cables. Gold-plated contacts reduce contact resistance and improve longevity compared with unplated connectors. The compact black housing fits neatly into patch panels, wall plates, or crowded network racks while maintaining a stable mechanical connection.

Suitable for (tasks / use cases)

• Connecting two Ethernet patch cables directly
• Adapting cable ends for temporary or permanent network changes
• Use in home, office, and small server rack installations
• Testing or troubleshooting network segments

Key specifications

• Connector type: RJ-45 female to RJ-45 female (gender change)
• Contact plating: gold-plated contacts for improved conductivity and corrosion resistance
• Housing color and material: black, compact molded housing designed for low profile installations
• Compatibility: standard 8P8C Ethernet cables (Cat5e/Cat6 and similar)
• Mechanical durability: designed for repeated insertion and removal in typical networking use

How to use

To use the cable gender changer, align the RJ-45 plug of one Ethernet cable with one side of the adapter and insert it until it clicks or seats firmly. Insert the second cable into the opposite side in the same way to establish a connection. Ensure both cable clips are oriented to avoid undue strain on the adapter and verify link status on connected devices to confirm connectivity. No tools or configuration changes are required.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, use the gender changer with cables and equipment rated for the same Ethernet category (for example, Cat5e with Cat5e or Cat6 with Cat6). Avoid using the adapter in environments with excessive mechanical stress, moisture, or extreme temperatures. Inspect contacts if intermittent connection occurs and replace the adapter if physical damage or significant wear is visible.
