Kaapeliadapteri RJ-45 ShiverPeaks BS08-01048

The ShiverPeaks BS08-01048 Cable Gender Changer RJ-45 is a compact black adapter that connects two RJ-45 terminated network cables directly. Designed for straightforward extension and reconfiguration of Ethernet runs, the adapter accepts two eight-pin modular plugs and provides a simple inline connection point without requiring tools. Its small form factor and durable housing make it suitable for temporary or permanent installations in home and office networks where space is limited.

Advantages

This RJ-45 cable gender changer delivers a reliable physical connection between two Ethernet cables while maintaining signal integrity for typical copper network links. The adapter’s molded housing resists wear from repeated insertions and its compact dimensions reduce cable clutter. Because it requires no wiring or crimping, it enables fast setup and minimizes downtime during network adjustments. The neutral black finish integrates unobtrusively into most network environments.

Suitable for

• Extending patch cables in home or small office networks
• Temporarily joining two Ethernet cables without creating a permanent splice
• Connecting legacy patch panels or devices when cable lengths are short
• Network troubleshooting where a quick inline connection is required

Key specifications

• Connector type: RJ-45 female to RJ-45 female (inline coupler)
• Cable category compatibility: suitable for Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6a copper Ethernet cables (typical use)
• Number of contacts: 8 positions / 8 contacts
• Housing color: black
• Form factor: compact inline coupler, tool-free installation

How to use

Insert the RJ-45 plug of the first Ethernet cable into one side of the coupler until it clicks, then insert the plug of the second Ethernet cable into the opposite side in the same manner. Ensure both plugs are fully seated to maintain contact with all eight pins. After connection, verify link status by checking the connected devices or network LEDs; if necessary, reposition cables to reduce strain on connectors and avoid sharp bends near the adapter.

Recommendations

For best results, use the adapter with cables and devices that match the intended Ethernet category and ensure connections are protected from excessive movement, moisture, and dust. Avoid using the coupler in line segments where maximum throughput and low latency are critical for long runs; for those situations, prefer a single continuous cable or professionally terminated cabling.
