Kaapelileikkuri Bahco 2648 A paino 88 g

The Bahco 2648 A cable cutter is a compact hand tool designed for accurate cutting of small- to medium-diameter electrical and communication cables. Weighing approximately 88 g, it offers a lightweight solution that reduces hand fatigue during repeated use. The cutter provides clean, sheared cuts that help prevent conductor fraying and ensure tidy cable ends for connectors and terminations.

Advantages

Ergonomically shaped handles and a balanced, lightweight construction make the tool easy to control for precise cutting. Hardened cutting edges deliver consistent, clean cuts and resist dulling during normal use. Its small form factor allows access to confined spaces and improves maneuverability when working in panels, junction boxes, or wiring harnesses.

Suitable for

• Cutting insulated electrical wires and small multi-core cables
• Preparing cable ends for connectors and terminals
• Work in tight spaces such as control cabinets, junction boxes, and equipment housings
• General maintenance, installation and light electrical repair tasks

Key specifications

• Approximate weight: 88 g
• Tool type: hand-operated cable cutter
• Cutting action: shear-style blades for clean cuts
• Suitable cable size: small to medium diameter electrical and communication cables
• Handle design: ergonomic for improved grip and control

How to use

Position the cable between the cutting blades at the desired location and apply steady pressure to close the handles until the blade completes the cut. For best results, keep the blades clean and aligned, and cut at a right angle to the cable axis to minimise conductor distortion. Use a single, decisive action rather than sawing motions to preserve blade sharpness and achieve a smooth end finish.

Recommendations

Use personal protective equipment such as safety glasses when cutting energized or unknown cables and ensure cables are de-energised when working on electrical circuits. Inspect the tool regularly for wear, and replace or service the cutter if blades become chipped or misaligned. Store in a dry place to reduce corrosion risk.
