Kaiutin Klipsch R-40PM 100 dB

The Klipsch R-40PM 100 dB powered monitor speakers deliver Reference-series sound for home audio systems. These two-way speakers feature 4” copper-spun TCP woofers, 1” LTS aluminum tweeters with Tractrix horn loading, and a frequency response extending down to 60 Hz and up to 20 kHz. Designed as a compact powered solution, the R-40PM pair integrates a built-in amplifier and multiple inputs — including Bluetooth streaming, phono with ground, analog and digital connections — so no separate AV receiver is required. The cabinets are finished in black with low-profile magnetic grilles and include rear-firing bass-reflex ports for enhanced low-frequency performance.

Advantages

These wired, remotely controllable speakers combine a high 100 dB sensitivity with a custom amplifier to produce efficient, dynamic playback at moderate power levels. The larger edge-to-edge Tractrix horns increase directivity and widen the soundstage for clearer imaging, while the LTS aluminum tweeters minimize distortion for improved detail. Copper-spun woofers and rear bass ports provide deeper bass response from relatively compact cabinets, and the integrated RCA subwoofer output makes system expansion straightforward.

How to use

Place the speakers on stands or a stable shelf at ear level for optimal imaging, leaving space behind them for the rear-firing ports. Connect the speakers to mains power, link the pair together using the supplied speaker-to-speaker connection, and select the desired input: Bluetooth for wireless streaming, phono for turntables (use the ground screw terminal), or analog/digital sources for CD players, DACs, or TVs. Adjust volume and tone settings via the supplied remote or on-board controls, and optionally connect a powered subwoofer to the RCA line-level output to extend low-frequency response.

Recommendations

For best results, allow a few hours of break-in time at moderate levels, position the speakers at least 1–1.5 meters apart for a balanced stereo image, and keep them away from direct walls if possible to reduce boundary reflections. When using a turntable, ensure the phono grounding screw is connected to prevent hum.
