Satechi ST-UCICHS is a compact laptop dock and port replicator that connects to a host via USB 3.2 Gen 1 (3.1 Gen 1) Type-C and provides multiple downstream USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports plus SD and MicroSD (TransFlash) card reading. Housed in a slim silver metal enclosure and measuring 101.6 × 40.6 × 24.9 mm with a weight of 0.102 kg, the unit expands connectivity for laptops and tablets to simplify file transfer and peripheral connection.

Advantages

The dock offers high-speed data transfer over USB 3.2 Gen 1 interfaces for quick file movement between devices and external storage. Its compact aluminium design in silver provides a low-profile footprint while maintaining physical durability. Built-in SD and MicroSD card readers enable direct access to memory cards without additional adapters. The unit is bus-powered through the Type-C host interface, making it convenient for mobile workflows.

Suitable for

• Expanding USB connectivity on laptops and tablets with Type-C ports
• Transferring photos and media from SD and MicroSD cards
• Connecting USB-A peripherals such as mice, keyboards and flash drives
• Front access data ports for desktop setups that require easier cable reach

• Downstream ports: USB 3.2 Gen 1 (3.1 Gen 1) Type-A ports
• Card readers: SD and MicroSD (TransFlash) card slots

How to use

Attach the dock to your laptop or tablet by plugging its Type-C connector into an available USB-C host port. For compatible setups such as the 2021 iMac (24-inch), the updated design secures to the underside of the display using the adjustable fastening knob and connects to one of the iMac’s rear USB-C ports for front access. Insert SD or MicroSD cards into the appropriate slot to access media; connect USB-A devices to the available downstream ports for immediate use. No additional drivers are typically required for common operating systems that support standard USB mass storage and hub functions.

Recommendations

Use the dock for data transfer and peripheral connectivity only; USB ports on this unit do not support device charging or optical drives such as Apple SuperDrive. For reliable performance, connect directly to a host USB-C port and avoid straining the connector or applying excessive weight to the unit when mounted.
