The kwb HSS-Co twist drill bit (KWB 248020) is a single right-hand rotation drill intended for precise drilling in demanding materials including alloyed and unalloyed steels, stainless steel (V2A/V4A), grey cast iron, cast steel, bronze and plastics. Made to DIN 338 standards with a 5% cobalt alloy, the drill features a 135° split point (DIN 1412 C) for self-centring performance and reduced slipping. The parallel shank provides universal compatibility with standard drill chucks.

How to use

Secure the twist drill in a suitable chuck and ensure the workpiece is clamped or fixed. Select an appropriate rotational speed and cutting fluid for the material being drilled—lower speeds and coolant are recommended for stainless steel and hard alloys. Start drilling with light pressure to allow the split point to self-centre, then apply steady feed until the hole is complete. Retract periodically to clear chips when drilling deep holes.

Recommendations
