BOSCH PRO Wood Auger Bit, 20 mm — precise drilling in wood
The BOSCH PRO Wood Auger Bit with a 2 cm (20 mm) diameter is made for fast, accurate drilling in hardwood and softwood. Designed for use with handheld drills and compatible rotary hammers, this single-piece auger bit combines a strong screw tip and ground main cutting edge to ensure precise starts and stable, dimensionally accurate deep holes. The flute geometry promotes efficient chip removal for cleaner holes and smoother drilling.

Advantages

The screw tip draws the bit into the workpiece to provide accurate hole positioning and easy penetration. A ground main cutting edge maintains sharpness for clean cuts while the flute design evacuates chips effectively, reducing clogging during deep drilling. Constructed as a single robust piece, the bit offers consistent performance and durability for typical woodworking tasks.

Suitable for

• Drilling deep holes in hardwood and softwood
• Carpentry and furniture making
• Installing dowels or large wooden fasteners
• General workshop and on-site wood drilling

Key specifications

• Brand: Bosch
• Model / MPN: 2608597646
• EAN: 3165140183550
• Diameter: 20 mm (2 cm)
• Quantity: 1 piece
• Application: Wood (hardwood and softwood), compatible with drills and rotary hammers

How to use

Secure the auger bit in the drill chuck according to the drill manufacturer’s instructions. Mark the drilling location and position the screw tip at the start point. Apply steady pressure and start the drill at a moderate speed to allow the screw tip to draw the bit into the wood. Maintain controlled feed and clear chips periodically if necessary to avoid clogging and overheating. Withdraw the bit carefully once the hole reaches the required depth.

Recommendations

Use appropriate personal protective equipment (safety glasses, gloves) and select a drill with sufficient power for 20 mm wood drilling. For cleaner holes in hardwood, run the drill at moderate speed and periodically retract the bit to remove chips. Follow the drill and bit manufacturer’s safety and maintenance guidance.
